LEWISTON, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's tennis team dropped its first Great Southwest Athletic Conference match of the season Friday, falling 6-1 to host Lewis-Clark State College.
The Yotes opened strongly in doubles, with Lina Boylan and Kinsey Lockhart earning a 7–5 win at the No. 1 position. Lewis-Clark State, however, secured the doubles point by taking the remaining two courts, including a tight 7–6 (7–4) decision at No. 2.
Boylan delivered the Yotes' lone singles victory, cruising 6–2, 6–4 at the top spot. College of Idaho nearly added another point at No. 2, where Hristina Ljuba won the opening set before falling in three, 7–5, 4–6, 1–6.
The Warriors swept the remaining singles matches in straight sets to clinch the dual.
College of Idaho continues GSAC play Saturday in Lewiston as it looks to rebound from its first conference setback.
