The matchup, held on the LSUS campus, featured strong doubles and singles performances, including promising early-season play from returning athletes and a standout debut from a new team member.
The Yotes secured a key win in doubles play when Berkley Klarich and Adele Long paired for a 7–5 victory, giving the team early momentum. Klarich and Long continued their success in singles competition, scoring the Yotes two points on the day. Klarich battled through a three-set match to earn her victory, while Long controlled her singles match from start to finish, winning in straight sets.
Newcomer Alyssa Johnson, competing in her debut with the Yotes, delivered an impressive performance by pushing her opponent to three sets. Johnson's strong showing highlighted her potential to make a significant impact throughout the season.
