PORTLAND, Ore. — College of Idaho used a blistering first half and a balanced two-way effort to notch a decisive 87–71 road win over Warner Pacific on Saturday at CC Perry Gymnasium.
The Yotes (15–7, 10–4 CCC) exploded for 52 first-half points while holding the Knights to just 29, building a 23-point cushion they maintained comfortably the rest of the night.
Rey Johnston led the offensive surge with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including five 3-pointers. Dougie Peoples added 14 points and four assists, while Tucker Tiddens came off the bench to deliver 13 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-10 shooting. Utrillo Morris provided a strong all-around performance with 13 points, nine assists and five boards.
College of Idaho shot 49.3% from the field and 12 of 28 from three, riding a 55% first half to seize control early. The Yotes also dominated the glass, 44–25, and limited Warner Pacific to one offensive rebound for the entire game.
Defensively, C of I forced 13 turnovers and held the Knights to 33% shooting in the opening half. David Kludt anchored the interior with seven points, six rebounds and two steals, while Alex Germer pulled down a team-high eight boards.
Warner Pacific (5–17, 1–13) found its rhythm after halftime, shooting 64% in the second period, but never cut the deficit to single digits. Nico Perez-La Costa scored 17 points and hit five 3-pointers to pace the Knights, while Chad Napoleon posted 12 points and eight rebounds.
