MEDFORD, ORE - The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) has announced
Abbi Roubidoux as the McDonald's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network. Her relentless work rate and clinical finishing propelled the Yotes to defeat No. 3 John Browk University (Ark.). She recorded a brace and assisted on another to push the Yotes past the Golden Eagles.
She opened scoring from the Yotes after collecting a devastating, deep diagonal ball from
Gianna Yslava and slotted it into the back of the net with a clinical, one touch finish. Roubidoux then returned Yslava's favor and served a cross that Yslava pushed the Yotes two ahead. Roubidoux then found the net once more with a volley from a
Kyndra Lyons corner kick to ensure The College of Idaho walked away victorious.
Coming out of the weekend, Roubidoux ranks eight in the nation in goals scored with six goals so far. She leads the CCC in goals (6), points (14), and shots on goal (15). With their slate of non-conference complete, the No. 3 Yotes look to defend their CCC Championship crown and open up conference play at Walla Walla Univ. (Wash.) on September 19th.
