Yotes Sweep Day 1 of Warner Pacific Series

The College of Idaho secured two impressive victories over Warner Pacific (OR), showcasing strong performances in both games to improve their record to 20-4.

In the first matchup, the Yotes claimed a 4-0 win behind standout performances from Brinley Iverson and Ashlynn Nixon. Iverson delivered three hits and two RBIs, while Nixon added a hit and drove in a two runs. Pitcher Abbey Brooks anchored the win with a complete game, striking out eleven and allowing zero runs. The Yotes' defense also played a vital role, with no errors and a double play shut down Warner Pacific's scoring threats.

The Yotes followed up that win with an explosive 11-3 victory in the second game. Their offense came alive in the second and fourth innings, where they posted 3 and 5 runs, respectively. Nixon once again shined, going 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Kamryn Ham contributed with two hits, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. On the mound, Grace Neer earned the win with 5.2 innings of solid pitching, allowing just three hits and striking out four. Rylee Smith closed the game with 1.1 scoreless innings to seal the victory.

Warner Pacific managed three total runs across both games, with contributions from Barawis, Kamimae, and O'Reilly. Despite a solid relief effort from pitcher Tate in the second game, Warner Pacific struggled to contain the Yotes' offensive surge.

The Yotes' aggressive baserunning, totaling four stolen bases in the second game, played a key role in their success. With these two victories, The College of Idaho aims to carry their momentum into their Saturday series as they continue their impressive season.
