Yotes Control the Paint in Road Victory

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The College of Idaho opened its final road trip of 2025 with an impressive performance Friday night, riding a fast start and a standout showing from freshman Reece Sasser-Gunson to a 91-71 win over Evergreen.

Sasser-Gunson provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting while adding five rebounds in just 20 minutes. The freshman's energy helped the Yotes seize control early, as College of Idaho shot 60 percent from the field in the first half and carried a 47-29 lead into the break.

Rey Johnston led all scorers with 17 points for the Yotes, while Utrillo Morris added 14 points and four assists. Tucker Tiddens chipped in 10 points off the bench as College of Idaho posted 39 bench points and pushed the lead to as many as 29 in the second half.

The Yotes finished the night shooting 56.9 percent from the field and dominated the interior, outscoring Evergreen 60-18 in the paint while holding a 41-23 advantage on the boards. College of Idaho also capitalized on turnovers, converting 20 Evergreen miscues into points.

Tony Frohlich-Fair scored 19 points to lead Evergreen, but the Geoducks were unable to overcome the Yotes' early surge.

The victory improved College of Idaho to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play as the Yotes continued their final road trip of the 2025 calendar year.
