No. 5 Yotes Blank Rocky Mountain

BILLINGS, Mont. — The fifth-ranked team in the nation showed exactly why it sits atop the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings.

The College of Idaho women's soccer team delivered a dominant 2–0 road victory over Rocky Mountain College on Thursday, extending its unbeaten run in CCC play and reinforcing its title aspirations.

The Yotes (9-1-0, 6-0-0 CCC), ranked No. 5 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, overwhelmed the fifth-place Battlin' Bears(5-3-1, 3-2-1 CCC) with a relentless attack and airtight defense. Senior forward Abbi Roubidoux opened the scoring in the 30th minute, finishing a pinpoint assist from Gianna Yslava. Roubidoux led the Yotes with five shots, two on frame, and was a constant threat throughout the match.

In the 85th minute, Natasja Davis put the game out of reach with a solo strike capping a second-half surge that saw the Yotes fire 11 shots.

Goalkeeper Alivia Brenchley earned her the shutout, making four saves behind a back line that stifled Rocky Mountain's offense. The Battlin' Bears managed just two shots in the first half and three in the second, unable to break through the Yotes' defensive wall.

Rocky Mountain's keeper Matea Vernon was tested early and often, finishing with seven saves as the Yotes peppered the goal from all angles.

The College of Idaho matched Rocky in corner kicks (6–6) and committed fewer fouls (6 to Rocky's 10), maintaining composure in the matchup.

With the win, the Yotes remain undefeated in conference play and continue to lead the CCC standings, while Rocky Mountain holds fifth place. The Yotes road trip continues with a game on Saturday against Carroll at noon.
