Yotes Extend Road Unbeaten Streak to 23 With Win at Carroll

HELENA, Mont. — The College of Idaho women's soccer team continued its dominance away from home Saturday, grinding out a 2-1 victory over Carroll College at Nelson Stadium to extend its road unbeaten streak to 23 matches.

The Yotes (10-1-0, 7-0-0 CCC) struck early and held firm late, showcasing the tenacity on the road that has defined their emphatic run. Shaelyn Olsen opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing a well-placed ball from Gianna Yslava to give The College of Idaho a 1-0 lead. The goal marked Olsen's second of the season and set the tone for a physical, high-tempo match.

After halftime, Abbi Roubidoux doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute with a solo effort, her fourth goal of the year. Carroll (3-4-4, 1-4-2 CCC) responded in the 70th minute with a goal from Hayley Smith, assisted by Deanna Lord, but the Yotes defense held strong down the stretch.

Goalkeeper Alivia Brenchley made a key save in the second half to preserve the win. The Yotes outshot Carroll 21-6 and earned six corner kicks to the Saints' one, controlling possession and tempo throughout.

The victory not only keeps The College of Idaho atop the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings but also improves their all-time record against Carroll to 10-3-3, including eight straight wins.

The Yotes return home Friday, Oct. 17, to face Southern Oregon University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Simplot Stadium.
