Yotes Storm to Victory on Senior Night, Roll Past Argos

CALDWELL, Idaho — Twelve seniors were honored prior to kickoff, and The College of Idaho women's soccer team delivered a performance worthy of the occasion, defeating Providence (Mont.) 6-0 Saturday evening at Simplot Stadium.

The Yotes (12-2-0, 9-1-0 CCC) wasted no time asserting control, scoring four goals in the first half and adding two more in the second before a thunderstorm halted play in the 74th minute. The result stands as final.

Senior Natasja Davis opened the scoring in the 15th minute, breaking a tie with fellow senior Eden Makaafi for the most career goals in program history. Makaafi responded 11 minutes later with a goal of her own, bringing both players to 36 career goals and maintaining the shared record.

Gianna Yslava, another senior standout, assisted on the first three goals before scoring unassisted in the 43rd minute. Her five-point outing extended her program-best career points total to 86.

Shaelyn Olsen, Abbi Roubidoux and Alondra Osuna each added goals for the Yotes, with Davis assisting on the final two. The College of Idaho outshot Providence 29-0 and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Hailey Jo Parks earned the win, improving to 4-1-1 on her career. The Yotes also celebrated the playing debut of senior team manager Ellie Stoll, who entered the match in the first half.

The College of Idaho honored seniors Hailey Jo Parks, Kaeden Hansen, Eden Makaafi, Reagan Flynn, Madison Herrera, Gianna Yslava, Natasja Davis, Kyndra Lyons, Lucy Evans, Mckenna Harris, Hailey Rogers, and Ellie Stoll before the match.

The Yotes will close out the regular season next weekend with road contests against The Evergreen State and Northwest University. They need wins in both results to guarantee the Cascade Collegiate Conference Regular Season Championship.
