BILLINGS, Mont. — The Yotes started strong as
Natasja Davis scored twice within the first ten minutes, igniting a spirited contest with the Bears. Despite a second-half goal from the Bears, the Yotes held on for a 2-1 victory, marking their first conference win on the road of the 2024 season.
In the 5th minute,
Kaeden Hansen's shot was blocked by Hannah Trumbull, allowing Davis to score from the rebound. Just a minute later,
Ava Poyser delivered a cross that Hansen picked up, setting up Davis for her second goal. These were Davis's first two conference goals and her third and fourth of the season.
Alivia Brenchley made two crucial saves in the first half to preserve the Yotes' lead.
The Yotes outshot the Bears 19-16, with the Bears earning 5 corners to the Yotes' 5—eventually leading to their goal. In the second half, Rocky Mountain came out strong, threatening in the box off set pieces. Their persistence paid off with a goal by Mya Maack, who scored on a header from a corner kick.
This win marks the Yotes' first victory at Wendy's Field since 2018. With the victory, the College of Idaho improves to 5-0-2, their best start in school history. The Yotes will host Carroll College on October 11th at Simplot Stadium, followed by a game against the University of Providence on October 12th.
