CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho Women's Soccer team continues their unbeaten start to the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over The Evergreen State College (Wash.) on Saturday. The Yotes improved to 4-0-2 overall and 2-0-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
Midfielder Larissa Wegner opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an unassisted goal, her third of the season. Forward Alexis Eiguren netted twice, first in the 19th minute with an assist from midfielder Kyndra Lyons and later in the second half in the 59th minute, assisted by Mckenna Harris.
Forward Eden Makaafi extended the lead with a goal in the 36th minute, set up by defender Gracie Walt. Midfielder Abbi Roubidoux capped the first-half barrage with a goal in the 40th minute, assisted by Madison Little.
The Yotes controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting Evergreen 35-0, with 22 shots on target.
College of Idaho now turns their attention to an upcoming road match against Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) on Sept. 27 in Billings, Mont. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. MDT.
