Yotes Women's Soccer Dominates Northwest University in Cascade Conference Opener

CALDWELL, Idaho — #13 The College of Idaho women's soccer team kicked off Cascade Collegiate Conference play with a commanding 7-0 victory over Northwest University on Friday at Simplot Stadium.

Gianna Yslava opened the scoring for the Yotes in the 13th minute, assisted by Alexis Eiguren and Natasja Davis. Eiguren doubled the lead just three minutes later, connecting with a pass from Delaney Reed. Eden Makaafi added a third in the 28th minute with an unassisted strike, followed by Abbi Roubidoux, who netted her first goal of the season in the 36th minute off an assist from Alli Moultray, giving the Yotes a 4-0 lead at halftime.

The second half saw more dominance from the College of Idaho, with Larissa Wegner scoring in the 58th minute from a setup by Yslava. Eiguren bagged her second goal of the game in the 68th minute, assisted by Alondra Osuna, before Maddie Herrera sealed the scoring in the 75th minute with help from Mckenna Harris.

Goalkeepers Alivia Brenchley, Hailey Jo Parks, and Isabella Chianta combined for a shutout, facing just three shots on goal throughout the match. Northwest University's Katie Snow made nine saves, but the Yotes' relentless attack, totaling 35 shots, proved too much for the Eagles.

With this win, the Yotes improve to 3-0-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. They return to Simplot Stadium tomorrow for another home match against The Evergreen State College at 4 p.m.
