For the eighth consecutive time, the College of Idaho has punched a ticket to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament after posting a 104-73 win over Jessup on Friday night. To get to the second round, it was a sharp-shooting effort by the No. 3 Yotes that propelled the home team to victory. In the win, College of Idaho knocked down 19 3-pointers – 12 of which came in the first 20 minutes. The 12 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes matches a season-high.

Tyler Robinett led the College of Idaho making a career-best seven 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 29 points. Robinett was not a one-man show, freshman
Dougie Peoples tied a season-high with five triples on his way to 22 points in the win.
Jessup (18-12) was led by a 16-point effort from Ty Artis, who was joined in double figures by Ja'Maris Blackmon and Xavier Lovelace, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Lovelace knocked down a 3-pointer for the visitors on the first possession for one of its few leads in the game. Down 16-15 Yotes reserve
Alex Germer hit the first of three-straight 3-pointers by College of Idaho to spark a stretch of 12-straight points to put the raucous crowd of 1,820 into a frenzy. Just after the Warriors had got the deficit to single digits, another stretch of three-straight possessions where College of Idaho hit a 3-pointer stretched the advantage to double digits for the remainder of the contest.
For the contest, the College of Idaho shot 57.8% from the field and 52.8% from beyond the arc. The 52.8% (19-for-36) is the third-best single-game effort on the season. Plus, the highest since a season-best 60.6% clip against Multnomah. Robinett is the second Yote to hit seven 3's in a game,
Drew Wyman also hit seven against Oregon Tech on January 26.
The 104 points by the College of Idaho are the most in an NAIA first-round game and the most in a post-season game since a second-round game in 1988 when they put up 123 against Lipscomb. With the win, College of Idaho is now 16-10 in first-round games.
Next up, College of Idaho is a matchup against Cornerstone at 7 p.m. on Saturday with a trip to Kansas City on the line. It will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs as they faced one another in the second round of the NAIA Division II Tournament in 2019.
