College of Idaho Men's Basketball Set to Defend CCC Tournament Title as No. 1 Seed

SERIES HISTORY: College of Idaho heads into the matchup against Northwest has the Yotes holding a 37-23 advantage in the series with victories in its last 16 games. 

TOURNAMENT HISTORY: College of Idaho heads into the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament having won its last 17 tournament games (last loss: semifinal vs. Oregon Tech (L, 75-69, 2/25/17) and the last five conference tournament titles (excluding the 2021 CoVID year).

1,000-POINT PLATEAU: Jake O'Neil became the 31st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark in the 79-51 win over Multnomah in program history. He was joined in the 1,000-point club by Johnny Radford, who reached the mark with his second 3-pointer in the win over Walla Walla. Drew Wyman became the third Yote with over 1,000 career points with his 13-point effort at Bushnell. It is the first time in program history that the Yotes have had three 1,000-point scorers on the roster in the same year.

20 Win: With the first 20-win season in 1954-55, College of Idaho has had 26 20-win seasons and seven of the last eight seasons after picking up win No. 20 in a 106-61 rout of Walla Walla. Colby Blaine has won at least 30 games, four of the last five seasons including a school record 36 in 2022-23.

THE ROUT IS ON: The Yotes have won the last 10 games by an average of 32.5 points with a high of a 67-point rout of Evergreen. Seven of the last 10 games have seen College of Idaho have hit the 100-point mark. In 22 of the 26 wins, College of Idaho has won by at least 10 points.

FOR 3: Johnny Radford has made 66 3-pointers in 2023-24 for 229 in his career to move into third place all-time. Next on the list for Radford is 275 by Josh Owen (2004-08). In the last 10 games, College of Idaho has made at least 10 3-pointers for the first time in program history. Earlier this season against Multnomah, College of Idaho made a season-high 20 3-pointers for the first time since they made 20 triples against Northwest Indian College on Nov. 23, 2018. College of Idaho knocked down 17 3-pointers in the 107-40 win over Walla Walla on Friday, January 5. The most and at home since they drained 18 since they made 18 against Walla Walla on January 28, 2023. Last season, College of Idaho made 320 3-pointers, the most since a school record 368 in 2018-19.

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: College of Idaho put up 50+ points in the first 20 minutes in 11 games in 2023-24. The recipe for this success has been in the last 10 games, the Yotes have shot at least 51.1% from the field, outscored their opponents (95.5 ppg to 63.0 ppg) and outrebounded their opponents (45.7 rpg to 30.0 rpg).
