Taming the Wolves: Yotes Dominate in Conference Clash

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The College of Idaho Yotes showcased a balanced attack to roll past the Walla Walla Wolves, 106-58, on Windemuth Court Wednesday afternoon, remaining unbeaten in conference play.

Dougie Peoples spearheaded the Yotes' offensive explosion with 17 points off the bench, including an impressive 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Tyler Robinett chipped in 13 points on an efficient 4-of-6 from the field, while Drew Wyman added 12 points and four rebounds. Straton Rogers dominated the glass, pulling down 12 rebounds to go along with 11 points, cementing a double-double in just 19 minutes of action.

Samaje Morgan orchestrated the offense with 11 points and three assists, while Johnny Radford dished out a team-high four assists. Paul Wilson and Bryan St. Clair provided key contributions off the bench, with Wilson snagging four rebounds and St. Clair tallying nine points in limited minutes.

The Yotes' dominance began early, as they shot a scorching 61.3% in the first half to build a 57-29 halftime lead. Their depth shone throughout, with the bench contributing 52 points and every player recording at least one rebound or assist.

Walla Walla struggled to counter College of Idaho's relentless pace and efficiency, turning the ball over 24 times. Andrew Vaughan led the Wolves with 16 points, while Thomas Mestrov contributed 11.

College of Idaho excelled on both ends of the court, forcing 24 turnovers while out-rebounding Walla Walla by a 46-37 margin. The Yotes also outscored the Wolves 32-16 in the paint and converted 19-of-25 free throws (76%).

The win extends the Yotes' conference winning streak to 4 games this season, with their balanced scoring and defensive intensity marking them as a formidable contender in any matchup.
