CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's basketball team kicked off their season in style with a 75-56 home victory over Hope International at the J.A. Albertsons Activities Center. The Yotes showcased impressive long-range shooting, hitting 37% from beyond the arc with 10 successful three-pointers. Brooke Beresford led the charge with three triples, while Mia Austin added three of her own to propel the team's offensive output.
In addition to their perimeter success, the Yotes demonstrated defensive prowess, recording eight steals throughout the game. Kylie Waltermeyer led the team with four steals, disrupting Hope International's offense and creating key scoring opportunities off turnovers. The Yotes turned Hope's 13 turnovers into 15 points, emphasizing their efficiency on both ends of the court.
The Yotes will look to continue their strong start when they face Rocky Mountain College tomorrow, November 9, at 5 p.m. at the J.A. Albertsons Activities Center.
