CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's basketball team opened their season with a commanding 97-73 victory over Providence (MT) on Friday at the J.A. Albertson Activity Center. The Yotes showcased their depth and shooting prowess, particularly from beyond the arc, where they hit 13 three-pointers at a 37.1% clip.
Johnny Radford led the scoring with an impressive 24 points, including eight three-pointers. Drew Wyman added 14 points, while Tyler Robinett contributed a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Straton Rogers also dominated the glass, grabbing 10 boards to go along with his seven points.
College of Idaho held a 46-35 advantage in rebounds, translating into 17 second-chance points. Samaje Morgan orchestrated the offense with nine assists, helping the Yotes build a 10-point lead by halftime, which they expanded throughout the second half.
The Yotes (1-0) will look to continue their winning momentum as they progress through the early stages of their season. They are back at home Saturday night at 7pm vs Dickinson State
