Dominic Bolin: Coach of the Year

CALDWELL, IdahoDominic Bolin, head cross country coach at the College of Idaho, has added an impressive collection of accolades to his name following a historic 2024 season. Bolin was named NAIA Men's Cross Country National Coach of the Year and USTFCCCA National (NAIA) Coach of the Year for leading the Yotes to their first-ever men's team title at the NAIA Cross Country Championships. Additionally, he swept regional and conference honors, earning USTFCCCA West-Region Coach of the Year for both men's and women's cross country and Cascade Conference Coach of the Year for both programs.

Bolin's leadership culminated in a national title for the Yotes at the NAIA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri, where the men's team scored 87 points, winning by nine. The squad was led by Daniel Butler's sixth-place individual finish and two additional top-13 finishes. This championship victory capped a season that included team titles at the Cascade Conference Championships (24 points), Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic (31 points), Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational (43 points), and Cascade Conference Preview (31 points).

On the women's side, Bolin guided the Yotes to another Cascade Conference title, scoring 25 points behind a dominant team performance. Earlier in the season, the women's team also claimed the team title at the Cascade Conference Preview with just 21 points.

In just his third year as head coach, Bolin has solidified College of Idaho's cross country programs as national powerhouses. His programs took second at the NAIA championships in the combined total score, which emphasizes how well they stack up above the rest of the nation. His ability to foster both individual and team excellence has been recognized across all levels, as he joins an elite group of coaches to achieve simultaneous honors at the conference, regional, and national levels for both genders.

With this season's achievements, Bolin has positioned the Yotes as perennial contenders in NAIA cross country while continuing to develop a legacy of excellence for both programs.
