CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho Yotes men's basketball team electrified the J.A. Albertsons Activities Center Saturday night, dismantling Embry-Riddle (AZ) 92-63 in a dominant performance at the Domino's Classic. Fueled by a balanced offensive assault, defensive grit, and a passionate home crowd, the Yotes showcased why they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
Forward Drew Wyman was a relentless force on both ends of the court, recording an impressive double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Wyman's energy in the paint and his hustle on the boards set the tone early and kept the Yotes firmly in control throughout the contest. Another standout was Tyler Robinett who couldn't miss, pouring in a team-high 21 points on an efficient 7-for-8 shooting performance. He also sunk a trio of three pointers. Robinett's offensive showcase kept Embry-Riddle's defense scrambling all night, as he repeatedly found ways to punish defensive lapses and exploit mismatches.
In a testament to their depth and versatility, 16 different Yotes players saw action tonight, with 12 of them finding their way onto the scoresheet. The bench contributed a remarkable 46 points, demonstrating the squad's depth and their commitment to team basketball. The Yotes' defensive pressure forced 13 turnovers and held the Eagles to just 38% shooting from the field.
With momentum in their favor, the Yotes will shift their focus to a highly anticipated battle for the Mayor's Cup against Northwest University on Tuesday night at 7 PM in Caldwell. This clash marks the Yotes' chance for redemption after a heart-wrenching overtime exhibition loss at Northwest Nazarene earlier this season.
