SPOKANE, WASH - The College of Idaho Women's Basketball team made the trip to Spokane, Wash. to take on NCAA Division 1 foe Gonzaga University. The Yotes got to fine tune their skills in front of nearly 5,000 basketball fans at the McCarthy Athletic Center. The final score ended in favor of the hosting Bulldogs 79-39.

Mia Austin put the Yotes briefly on top after an early turnaround jumpshot to see the Yotes take a 4-2 lead. The Yotes held close with a 12-16 deficit with 2:52 remaining in the first quarter before the reigning 2023-24 West Coast Conference champions displayed their efficient scoring and resilient defense to build a commanding lead.

Mia Austin was a bright spot on the night. She led the Yotes with 11 points. Austin went 3 for 5 from beyond the arc showcasing her marksman ability.
Kylie Waltermeyer showed off her nimble defensive skills by grabbing a pair of steals from the Bulldog offense.
Brooke Beresford had a team high four rebounds.

Field goal percentage was the biggest difference in the two squads. The Yotes were 28.1% on the night while the Bulldogs shots an incredible 50% from the field. The Bulldogs turned the ball over 16 times during the game while the Yotes had two less.

The Yotes look to take the lessons from tonight's exhibition and apply them to their season opener on November 8
th. They will host Hope International University at 5pm in JA Albertsons Activities Center in Caldwell.
