BILLINGS, Mont – The College of Idaho Yotes (4-2, 2-1) secured an important 49-31 victory over Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana on October 5, 2024. The Yotes' offense was on fire, led by quarterback Andy Peters, who threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns, as well as backup quarterback Caden Young, who added a 55-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Running back Hunter Gilbert had a stellar game, rushing for 83 yards on 12 carries, including two touchdowns. His 24-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Yotes momentum, and he opened the game with a 16-yard scoring run early in the first.Brock Richardson hauled in a 77-yard touchdown pass, while Tommy Hauser contributed 121 yards on five receptions, including a 55-yard score from Young.
Defensively, the Yotes limited Rocky Mountain to just 51 rushing yards, while racking up two sacks and forcing a key interception in the fourth quarter, which helped seal the victory. The defense also held strong in key moments, forcing two missed field goals by Rocky Mountain.
The Yotes will now turn their attention to their upcoming matchup against Arizona Christian University, set for Saturday, October 12 at Simplot Stadium in Caldwell. The game, which kicks off at 1 p.m., will be the team's annual Pink Out Game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, and fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
