GLENDALE, Ariz. – The College of Idaho women's tennis team lost by a 7-0 margin to host Arizona Christian on Wednesday.
After winning its first-ever Golden State Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday, the Firestorm won all of the matches but not without a fight from a valiant C of I squad, who falls to 2-2 on the season.
Three of the matches – at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 singles were decided in a third set. The match-up at No. 3 singles was a close match with
Nicole Tran for C of I and Lucy Rekasch of ACU. Rekasch took the first set by a 6-1 margin before Tran tied up the match with a second-set win in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (10-4). The third set was played in a tiebreaker format with Rekasch winning by a narrow 10-7 margin.
Next, the Yotes will return to Idaho to face NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa and NCAA Division I Idaho State on Sunday, Feb. 4 in Pocatello at 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively
