CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's tennis team dropped a pair of 7-0 decisions to Colorado Mesa (NCAA Division II) and host Idaho State (NCAA Division I) on Sunday.
The matchup against Colorado Mesa saw the No. 1 doubles team of
Hristina Ljuba and
Nicole Tran fall by a narrow 6-4 margin and
Lauren Kreutzer and
Anna Willcuts at No. 2 lose by a 6-2 score. Both Ljuba and Kreutzer at No. 1 and No. 2 singles were matches decided in the third set. Ljuba lost by a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 margin and Kreutzer was defeated by a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) margin. The other four singles matches were straight-set victories for CMU.
The contest against Idaho State saw the host Bengals control the matchup as they won all three doubles matches and all six singles contests.
On Friday, College of Idaho will face another Division I competitor in Boise State at the Boas Tennis Center at 8 p.m.
