ASHLAND, Ore. - After being swept on Friday, No. 8 College of Idaho split a doubleheader with No. 5 Southern Oregon on Saturday. The Yotes took game one by a 10-6 margin and fell in game two by a 9-1 margin in five innings.

Game one saw College of Idaho plate five runs in the first inning on its way to a 10-6 win to spoil a 16-game home winning streak by the host Raiders. Two of the five runs came in on a two-RBI single by
Lindsey Jones.
Madelyn Powell led a 15-hit attack with four hits, plus
Lexi Navarrete added three and
Haley Loffer,
Tanner Higgins and
Hattie Hruza each had two in the win.

After a five-run first, College of Idaho added to its lead with a three-run second inning on a RBI double by Navarrete and RBI singles by Hruza and Powell. The Yotes plated a run each in the fourth and the sixth in the win.

Despite 16 hits, the Raiders stranded 13 base runners in the loss. Deja Acosta had a team-high four hits and Kailer Fulton had three more in the defeat.

In the circle for C of I,
Hannah McNerney came in relief and pitched the final 6.2 innings, scattering 14 hits, allowing three runs – two earned and two strike outs to raise her record to 16-2.

The nightcap saw the Yotes limited to just four hits – four singles from
Haley Loffer,
Lexi Navarrete,
Madelyn Powell and
Lindsey Jones – in the loss. Each team plated a run in the first inning before the Raiders came back with seven in the second and one more in the third on its way to the 9-1 win.

Cayla Williams led SOU with three hits and four RBI with a run scored, plus Deja Acosta, Kailer Fulton and Rylan Austin each added two hits in the win. In the circle, Williams got her second win of the weekend allowing the four hits and walking two to raise her record to 13-4.
