KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior
Charles Elzie scored a career-high 25 points to lead College of Idaho to a 98-50 win over LSU-Shreveport in the NAIA Round of 16 on Monday.
College of Idaho (33-1) erased an 11-10 deficit with a 21-0 run to take a 31-11 lead with 7:30 left in the first half. In the run, the Yotes forced six turnovers, a pair of 3-point plays by
Samaje Morgan and
Paul Wilson and back-to-back 3 pointers by
Tyler Robinett and
Johnny Radford sparked College of Idaho in the win. The Yotes scored 29 of the first 42 of the second half to blow the game wide open.
Elzie was joined in double figures by
Samaje Morgan, who had 12 points,
Drew Wyman provided 11 and
Tyler Robinett scored 10. Morgan handed out five assists and
Caden Handran had eight points and nine rebounds in the win.

LSU-Shreveport (26-8) was paced by an 18-point effort from Jalen Brooks, who made 6 of 18 shots from the field. The Pilots were held to 26.7% (16 of 60) shooting from the field and 15.8% (3 of 19) from the 3-point line.
A few streaks continue for College of Idaho, the season-long winning streak is now at 33 games and a stretch of 16 straight by double figures. The next opponent for the Yotes is Tougaloo, who will enter the game on a 20-game winning streak. The contest will be on Wednesday at noon (MT)/ 1 p.m. (CST) for the right to punch a ticket to the Fab Four.
