BELLEVUE, Wash. - Solid pitching from
Katelyn Wilfert and
Hannah McNerney to go along with back-to-back double-digit hit efforts led No. 12 College of Idaho softball to a doubleheader and series sweep of host Northwest University on Saturday.

Wilfert went the distance for a complete game, raising her record to 9-1 and McNerney allowed just two hits in the nightcap for her third shutout to raise her record also to 9-1. Game one saw
Kaylee MacDannald record three hits and
Lexi Navarrete add two more to a 10-hit attack on its way to a 5-3 win. The nightcap saw College of Idaho record 13 hits - its most since a 14-hit game against Menlo (Mar. 11) – with
Hattie Hruza hit two doubles and a triple to go along with four RBI. McNerney nearly had a no-hitter, allowing a single in the second and fourth inning.

Game 1
After a scoreless first three innings, College of Idaho plated four runs in the fourth inning. Two of the runs came after a ball hit by
Haley Loffer was misplayed by the Eagles. Another run came in on a RBI single by MacDannald. The Eagles cut into the lead when they scored three runs on four hits in the fifth to make it a 4-3 game. College of Idaho added an insurance run in the seventh on a RBI triple by Navarrete for the final margin.

Game 2
A 10-run first inning led College of Idaho to a 12-0 win over Northwest in the series finale. The first inning saw 10 runs come in on eight hits as the visitors brought 15 batters to the plate. In the inning, Hruza had a two-RBI triple and a two-RBI double to lead the offensive onslaught.
A RBI single by Navarrete and a RBI double by
Brinley Iverson in the third provided the final margin.
Of the four baserunners that the Eagles had none of them reached scoring position as McNerney was in control in the circle for College of Idaho in the win.
Next, College of Idaho will host Corban University for a four-game series that gets underway on Friday, Mar. 17 with a doubleheader at Symms Field at 1 p.m.
