CALDWELL, Idaho - Weather in Helena, Montana moved the weekend series between Carroll College and No. 13 College of Idaho softball to Caldwell, Idaho.

The nationally-ranked Yotes were happy to be playing in front of their home fans at Symms Field, one of which was graduate student
Haley Loffer, who has etched her name throughout the record book at C of I. The shortstop from Coeur d'Alene became the program's all-time leader in home runs with a two-run home run in the sixth inning of game one. She added to her total with two more home runs in the nightcap. She became the ninth Yote in program history to hit two in a game. Most recently,
Hattie Hruza hit a pair of home runs against Southern Oregon on May 29, 2021. Loffer finished the twinbill with seven RBI, five runs scored, three hits (all home runs) and three stolen bases.

College of Idaho won the first game by a 11-0 margin in five innings and the second game by a 10-1 advantage to extend its winning streak to 12 games. Â
Game 1
College of Idaho scored four runs each in the final two innings as they cruised to the five-inning victory over the Saints.
Madelyn Powell had three RBI and
Tanner Higgins,
Katelyn Wilfert and Loffer added two RBI in the win.

Hannah McNerney allowed six hits in the shutout to raise her record to 5-0 on the season.

Carroll got two hits each from Amber Brewer and Kirsten Norris in the loss.

With the Yotes leading 9-0 in the fifth, Loffer hit her 25
th career home run for the final margin. Earlier in the game, College of Idaho got on the board with a RBI single by Higgins in the first and a RBI double by MacDannald in the third.
Game 2
Loffer hit two more home runs to lead the Yotes to a 10-1, six inning win over Carroll to complete a doubleheader sweep.

College of Idaho (12-0, 2-0 CCC) was paced by the long ball as they hit a school record five homeruns in the nightcap. The previous mark was a pair of four home run games against Oregon Tech on May 2, 2009 and May 9, 2008. In addition to the two from Loffer,
Kaylee MacDannald,
Tanner Higgins and
Kaily Christensen hit home runs in the win.

MacDannald led a 12-hit attack with three hits and three runs scored and Loffer drove in five. Starting pitcher
Katelyn Wilfert struck out seven to remain undefeated on the season with a 5-0 mark.

Carroll (3-6, 0-2 CCC) tied the game in the second inning on an unearned run before the Yotes scored the next nine runs on its way to the win. Five-different Saints had a hit in the loss.

The two teams wrap up the weekend series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Symms Field in Caldwell.
