TACOMA, Wash. - The College of Idaho women's tennis team posted an 8-1 win over NCAA Division III member, Pacific Lutheran on Saturday.
"The girls played hard," said head coach Jennifer Swing. The weeks of hard work are showing on the court."
The Yotes began the match, taking the doubles point with a sweep of all three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of
Lauren Kreutzer and
Leiana Almaraz won by an 8-0 margin and
Nicole Tran and Anna Willlcuts teamed up at No. 2 for an 8-4 victory. A default by the Lutes at No. 3 doubles gave College of Idaho a sweep.
Singles play was dominated by the Yotes with 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles by Kreutzer. Almaraz was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 2, Tran at No. 4 was also a 6-1, 6-0 winner and
Summer Townsend picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5.
Katie Carlock picked up a win by default at No. 6 for the final win on the day for College of Idaho.
On Sunday, College of Idaho will face Puget Sound at 10 a.m. (PST)/11 a.m. (MT).
