Olympia, Wash. – No. 1 College of Idaho put the finishing touches on the regular season with a 98-75 win over Evergreen State on Saturday night. The Yotes, who have won their last 27 in a row, completed Cascade Collegiate Conference play with a perfect 22-0 mark. It is the second time in conference history – first since 2019-20 - that a team has finished the regular season undefeated, both times it has been a College of Idaho squad.
College of Idaho (27-1, 22-0 CCC) trailed for just :57 the contest as four Yotes scored in double figures in the 23-point win as the Yotes have won by double digits in its last nine games.
Johnny Radford led the Yotes with 25 points as he made a season-high 10 field goals, including five 3-pointers in the win. On the season, Radford has had at least five 3-pointers in eight contests.
Drew Wyman added 12 and
Tyler Robinett and
Straton Rogers each had 11 in the win.
Evergreen (2-22, 2-20 CCC) was paced by a 22-point effort from Jourdan Joseph. He was joined in double figures by Tyler Williford, who added 10.
The Yotes jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first four minutes of the contest. Twice, the Geoducks cut the deficit to three but College of Idaho had an answer. With a 12-9 lead with 14:11 left in the opening half, the Yotes scored 17 of the next 21 points on its way to a 47-32 lead at the halftime break. College of Idaho shot 53.8% from the field and Radford scored 22 of his 25 in the first 20 minutes to lead the Yotes. Joseph led the Geoducks with 14 of his 22. An 18-3 run in the early minutes of the second half by the Yotes put the game out of reach. College of Idaho maintained its hot shooting with a 52.6% clip in the second half.
Tyler Harris and
Tyler Robinett each scored nine points in the final 20 minutes for the Yotes.
Next, College of Idaho will enter the CCC Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face No. 8 seed Bushnell on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the J.A.
