HELENA, Mont. - The 16th-ranked College of Idaho women's soccer team was in full control against a receiving votes Carroll side, shutting down the Saints by a score of 3-0.
Larissa Wegner was one of the stars on offense, scoring twice in the win. The first of Wegner's goals came in the 33rd minute off an assist from
Eden Makaafi, giving the Yotes a 1-0 advantage. The second of her goals came in the 53rd minute off a corner kick from
Payton Mongelli which found Wegner for the third of the Yotes goals.
The second goal for the Yotes offense came courtesy of
Alexis Haws, which came off a rebounded save from the Saints keeper. The Yotes offense was in full control once again, outshooting the Saints 28-3, while holding a 15-1 edge in shots on goal.
The Yotes will return to Simplot Stadium to begin the final three home games of the regular season, hosting Eastern Oregon on Friday.
