Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The receiving votes College of Idaho men's soccer team drew with the Providence Argos on Friday afternoon, ending the game with a 1-1 draw.
A majority of the offense favored the Yotes in the contest, having a 7-2 edge in shots on goal while the Yotes held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks while also firing off 17 shots in the contest compared to the Argos total of four.
Grant Embree, the reigning Rize CCC Offensive Player of the Week, opened the scoring early, taking the cross from
Ben Calam to put the ball past the Argo keeper to make it 1-0 in favor of the Yotes just seven minutes into the contest. The lead would hold for just over 16 minutes when the Argos Tomeu Nebot took a pass from Hugo Gil and put it past the Yotes keeper to tie the game at 1-1.
Following the halftime break, the Yotes would have plenty of chances in the second half, firing off 13 shots in the period forcing the Argo keeper to make five saves to keep the game level.
The Yotes will return to the pitch tomorrow to play Carroll on the road.
