PORTLAND, Ore. -
Eden Makaafi proved once again why she is a force on offense in the 15th-ranked College of Idaho victory over Multnomah, as the Yotes cruised to a 4-0 win.
The scoring started off with
Maddie Smith burying her only goal of the game, and her seventh of the season, in the 17th minute of play. From there, Makaafi took over, dominating on the offensive side of the ball once again for the Yotes.
In the 35th minute, Makaafi scored her first of the game coming off an assist from
Larissa Wegner, as the Yotes took a two goal lead into the break. Just two and a half minutes in to the second half, she scored her second of the game, this time coming off the foot of
Alexis Haws. That wasn't the end for Makaafi, as she scored a third goal in the 52nd minute, giving the Yotes a 4-0 lead which would hold to be the final.
The three goals from Makaafi now give her 13 on the season, which jumped fellow teammate
Natasja Davis for both a team high and the conference lead in goals. Her six points on the day also increase her conference lead, now sitting at 31.
The shutout for the Yotes increases their win streak to 14, while maintaining a streak of 10 consecutive games without conceding a goal on the defensive side of the ball.
The Yotes will end the regular season tomorrow in Portland against Warner Pacific.
