PORTLAND, Ore. - The No. 15 College of Idaho women's soccer team completed the rout of Warner Pacific on Saturday, beating the Knights by a score of 7-0.
The offense was hot right off the bat, as the Yotes fired off 13 shots in the first 45 minutes. The scoring started off with
Alexis Haws, putting the ball past the Knights keeper in the 13th minute coming off an assist from
Maddie Smith. Following a foul in the box,
Gianna Yslava was able to convert on the penalty kick, giving the Yotes a 2-0 lead just 25 minutes into the game. Just three minutes later, freshman
Abbi Roubidoux scored her first of three on the game, coming off an assist by
Madison Little, as the Yotes jumped out to a three goal lead.
Following an own goal in the 37th minute, Roubidoux tallied her second goal of the first half coming off a feed by
Alondra Osuna, as the first half would end 5-0 in favor of the Yotes. In the 50th minute, Roubidoux capped off her hat trick performance coming off a feed by
Isis Villafane, which would be Villafane's first point as a member of the Yotes. But Villafane wasn't done there, she added a goal of her own in the 69th minute, which was the first goal of her career following an outstanding prep career at nearby Ridgevue High School. Her goal would cap off the seven goal win for the Yotes.
The win marks the team's 16th of the season, tying a program record for wins in a season, which was set just a year ago. The win also marks 15 consecutive wins, extending a program record.
The Yotes will return to the pitch as the top seed in the CCC Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, in Springfield, Oregon on November 6.
