Box Score MESA, Ariz. - The College of Idaho baseball team scored eight in the second inning on its way to a 11-3 win over Embry-Riddle in the final game of the weekend trip to Arizona as the Yotes extended its winning streak to three games
The Yotes offense was able to get on the board in the first on a RBI single by Ben Gaff. The second inning saw the flood gates start to open for the Yotes, as the squad put up eight runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning. The big blows being a two-RBI single by Alex McFarland-Smith and a two-RBI double by Kris Kirkpatrick. Plus, Jake Denison added a RBI single that put the Yotes ahead 9-0.
The Eagles ended the shutout bid for the Yotes with a pair of two out RBI hits in the seventh inning.
Kirby Robertson earned his first win of the season, pitching four innings and striking out one. Kris Kirkpatrick started the game on the mound, going three innings and only allowing one hit, while striking out three batters.Â
The Yotes open the home season next weekend against Park-Gilbert with games on Friday through Sunday at Wolfe Field.
