KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A career night by sophomores
Tyler Robinett and
Paul Wilson led No. 1 College of Idaho men's basketball team to an 87-75 win over host Oregon Tech on Friday night.
Robinett, who made 8 of 9 field goals, poured in a career-high 21 points and Wilson, who made all six of his shots from the field, came off the bench to score a career-best 15 in the win. The win extends the win streak for the top-ranked Yotes to 17 games. College of Idaho raises its record to 17-1 overall and 12-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The two were joined in double figures by sophomore
Johnny Radford and freshman
Samaje Morgan, who had 15 and 13 points, respectively. Morgan also handed out 11 assists in the win. Wilson and Robinett each grabbed seven rebounds as College of Idaho out rebounded Oregon Tech, 39-37 in the win. College of Idaho has won 14 of its 15 games when it outrebounds its opponent.
Oregon Tech, who drops to 8-10 overall and 5-7 in the CCC, were led by Keegan Shivers, who poured in a game-high 27 points on the strength of 10-for-16 shooting from the field as he made seven 3-pointers in the loss. Jamison Guerra added 16 points and handed out nine assists in a loss.
The host Owls held a 23-21 lead early into the contest until an 11-4 run over the next 2:38 put College of Idaho for the rest of the contest when Wilson made a layup with 9:17 left in the first half. The Yotes ended the half on a 10-3 run on its way to a 52-42 halftime lead. The 52 points marks the fourth time on the season that College of Idaho has scored at least 50 points in a half.
Next, College of Idaho will travel to Southern Oregon on Saturday, tip off is scheduled for 5 p.m. (PST) and 6 p.m. (MT).
