Strong Second Half Leads No. 1 Yotes to 15th Straight Victory

EUGENE, Ore. - A strong second half performance carried the No. 1 College of Idaho men's basketball team to their 15th straight win, taking down host Bushnell, 81-65. The Yotes (15-1, 10-0 CCC) were in a tight battle with the Beacons, as the two teams were separated by two points at halftime. The first 20 minutes saw neither team able to sustain a large lead. The second half saw the Yotes jump out to a lead as large as 18 on its way to the win. Sophomore Drew Wyman started out the game hot, scoring the first six points of the game on two three-point shots. Wyman carried the strong opening to lead the team with 17 points. Junior Charles Elzie celebrated his birthday with 13, plus sophomore Jake O'Neil added yet another double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Straton Rogers and Johnny Radford joined them in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively. The Beacons (6-10, 4-6 CCC) were led in scoring by Spencer Hoffman, who added a double-double of his own, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Stevie Schlabach would finish right behind him with 15 points, plus Cory Johnson rounded out Bushnell's double digit scorers with 14. Coming up next for the Yotes is a road contest with Corban taking place Saturday in Salem.
