CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's soccer team got the home season underway against conference foe, Warner Pacific, taking down the Knights by a score of 5-0.
Chloe Teets opened the scoring for the Yotes, netting a goal on a header coming off a corner by
Payton Mongelli to give the Yotes a 1-0 lead.
Lily Schlake followed that up with two goals in the first half alone to give the Yotes a 3-0 lead going into the break. Just a minute into the second half,
Gianna Yslava scored her second goal of the season to give the Yotes a 4-0 lead. Freshman McKenna Harris scored her first goal shortly after as the Yotes were able to take a 5-0 lead and hold it.
"Great overall team performance," said head coach
Brian Smith. "Starting group really got the game going and it and a great influence from our attackers."
The Yotes start CCC play with a 1-0 record heading into Saturday's match with Multnomah, slated to begin at 4 p.m. at Simplot Stadium.
