CALDWELL – Another day, another honor for College of Idaho senior
Haley Loffer of the softball team.
On Wednesday, Loffer became just the second player in program history to earn multiple All-American honors with her selection to the NAIA Second Team All-American recognition. Loffer along with Destiny Turner, who was a two-time second team selection in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Furthermore, it is just the eighth All American honor in program history. On Tuesday, she was the third player in program history to earn CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-American honors.
The Coeur d'Alene native was selected to the second team as she helped lead College of Idaho to a third-straight appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in 2022. She ranks among one of the top players in program history, holding school records for runs scored (189), triples (14), walks (110), stolen bases (115); second in on-base percentage (.503), home runs (21); third in slugging percentage (.624), total bases (314) and fourth in doubles (38). In 2022, she hit at a .464 clip with 58 hits and 57 runs scored to go along with 42 stolen bases, five triples and five home runs. Twice, in 2022, she was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference/WVT Laboratory Player of the Week and named to the U.S. Bank Academic All-Conference Team for a third time.
Past All-American honorees for College of Idaho in softball include Colette Robert (honorable mention) in 2019, Destiny Turner (second team) in 2016 and in 2017, Nickayla Skinner (second team) in 2014, Jody Zillner (honorable mention) in 2009 and Katie Zillner (second team) in 2008.
