Yotes Place Trio on First Team Behind Watts’ Standout Season

CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho softball team earned strong recognition in the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference All-Conference selections, highlighted by sophomore Kina Watts being named Co-Newcomer of the Year and three Yotes landing First Team honors.

Watts shared Newcomer of the Year honors after a standout all-around season, while senior Madelyn Powell and junior Kamryn Ham joined her on the First Team. Chloe Flerchinger added Second Team honors, with Hallie Campbell and Lena Zahniser earning Honorable Mention recognition.

Watts, a transfer from Utah Valley, delivered one of the most dynamic seasons in the conference. In CCC regular-season play, she led the conference in batting average (.462), on-base percentage (.538), hits (36), and total bases (58), while ranking second in slugging percentage (.744) and runs scored (24). In the circle, she posted a 2.61 ERA in conference play and recorded a .929 fielding percentage.

Overall, Watts led the Yotes with a .399 batting average, 58 runs scored, 65 hits, and a .495 on-base percentage, while adding nine home runs and 48 RBIs. In the circle, she posted a team-best 2.50 ERA with a 9-2 record across 78.1 innings, adding four complete games.

Powell was one of the conference's top power threats, hitting .383 with 12 home runs and a conference-leading 59 RBIs, while compiling a .735 slugging percentage. Ham rounded out the First Team selections after batting .351 with 61 hits, 48 runs scored, and 26 RBIs, serving as a consistent presence at the top of the lineup and a threat to all batters in center field.

Flerchinger earned Second Team honors after hitting .351 with 46 hits and 24 RBIs, while anchoring the infield defensively with a .963 fielding percentage. She was also recognized as a Gold Glove recipient at third base. The catcher, Hallie Campbell, (.361, 25 RBIs) and Zahniser at first base (.389, 19 RBIs) were recognized as Honorable Mention selections after key contributions throughout the season.

Defensively, the Yotes were well represented with Gold Glove honors, as both Ham (outfield) and Flerchinger (third base) were recognized for their play in the field.

As a team, the Yotes finished the season 34-20 overall and 13-12 in conference play, placing multiple athletes among the CCC's top statistical leaders and showcasing one of the league's most balanced lineups. They now await the NAIA selection show on Wednesday at 4pm MT to reveal their postseason fate.
