KANSAS CITY, Mo. - College of Idaho baseball sophomore
Jonah Hultberg was named a First Team NAIA All-American on Tuesday.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year finished the season with a .426 batting average, the fourth-highest average in school history. On the year, Hultberg had a total of 35 multi-hit games,14 of which being multi-RBI games. Hultberg's batting average ranked in the top-20 nationally. His 100 hits are good for second in school history and good for a tie for fourth place in the NAIA. Hultberg registered an even .400 batting average in conference play with 40 hits, two home runs, and 13 RBI's while also being a perfect 7-7 on stolen bases in CCC play. Hultberg reached base successfully 50 percent of the time this season, which is the sixth-highest percentage in program history, including ending the season with an 11-game hitting streak.
Hultberg's 43 extra-base hits are good for fourth place in the NAIA, and his 174 total bases are also good for fourth in the NAIA. A perfect 12-12 on stolen bases this season, Hultberg's total is good for third most in program history without being caught stealing.
