CALDWELL, Idaho – No. 10 Southern Oregon took a pair of games from host No. 7 College of Idaho on Saturday. The visiting Raiders won the first game by an 8-3 margin and the nightcap by a 11-1 advantage.
Game 1
Southern Oregon (42-10) scored two runs each in the first, third, fifth and sixth inning en route to the 8-3 win. Cayla Williams and Ashton Cathey each had three hits and Piper Love and Lindsey Stripling added two more to the winning efforts.
College of Idaho (28-10) had five-different players with a hit in the game one loss. One of the five was a solo home run by senior
Haley Loffer. Plus,
Tanner Higgins and
Kaily Christensen each had a RBI in the loss for the Yotes.
Game 2
The Raiders built an 11-0 lead on the strength off a six-run third inning en route to the 11-1 win. Williams, Love and Stripling each had two hits in the win to lead SOU. The lone run for the Yotes came on a solo home run by
Hannah Mikel in the fifth inning.
Between the two games, College of Idaho honored its 10 seniors, who were playing in their final home game at Symms Field.
