Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The College of Idaho Yotes baseball team, coming off of a four game sweep of Oregon Tech, split the first two games of the weekend series with Bushnell. The finale of the doubleheader is tomorrow starting at 12 p.m.
Game one saw the Bushnell offense erupt for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take game one, 13-3. For the Yotes offense,
Jonah Hultberg went 2-2 in the first game, scoring a run and drawing two walks.
Alex McFarland-Smith and
Dillon Danner drove in the two RBI's for C of I, with the third run being unearned.
The Beacons offense caught fire in game one, jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning. Daniel Furman led the Beacons in the top of the lineup, going 3-5 with two RBI's. Noah Montoya was a driving factor in the game one win, also going 3-5 with a team-high three RBI's. Only one long ball was hit in the game, coming from Bushnell's Jameson Hussey.
Game two went the Yotes way, seeing C of I earn a 4-3 win. Both
Skyler Sadora and
Ben Gaff had major contributions to the Yotes offense, each knocking a ball over the outfield fence. Sadora went 3-5 with his solo homerun, and
Ben Gaff went 1-3 with a home run and two RBI's.
Dimick Wood started the game on the mound for the Yotes, going six innings and striking out 10 batters.
Erik Wisenor gets credited with the game two victory, going three innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven batters.
For the Beacons, Jeff Fripp led Bushnell once again, going 2-4 in the game. Three different Bushnell players drove in runs in the game three loss.Â
