Pocatello, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa on Saturday.
The Mavericks opened the match with a sweep of the doubles matches. The Yotes'
Leiana Almaraz and
Anna Willcuts ere in a tightly contested match at No. 2 that saw the Mavericks break a 4-4 tie with two more points on its way to a 3-0 lead in doubles.
The singles play saw
Lauren Kreutzer at No. 2 and
Leiana Almaraz at No. 3 have a pair of tightly contested matches. Kreutzer lost a heartbreaking match by a 6-3, 7-5 decision to Maike Waldburger. Almaraz lost 6-0, 6-4 to Halle Romero.
Next, C of I will face Idaho State on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.
