RETURNING HOME FOR FINAL TIME IN 2022: Through nine games, College of Idaho has played in the friendly confines of the J.A. Albertson Activity Center in six contests. Among CCC teams, the six home games for College of Idaho is among the most in the conference (Evergreen - six; Lewis-Clark State - seven). Friday's opponent Multnomah has played eight of its nine games away from home, Saturday's opponent - Warner Pacific has also spent considerable time on the road with five of its eight games being played away from home.
CONFERENCE PLAY: The Cascade Collegiate Conference began play with the 1993-94 season with the Yotes joining the conference in 1995-96. College of Idaho, formerly known as Albertson College, won a league title in 2000-01 with a 14-2 mark and another in 2009-10 with a 14-4 effort. The Yotes were also the conference tournament champions in 2009-10 and 2011-12. All-time in CCC games, College of Idaho has a mark of 279-179 with five-straight seasons of double-digit wins.
SUCCESS AGAINST MULTNOMAH: The .929 winning percentage by the Yotes against Multnomah is the highest by College of Idaho against any other team in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
SPARKS FROM THE BENCH: Yotes reserves have scored 131 points (14.6 ppg) in the first nine games with
Taryn Riley leading the team with 44 points (11.0 ppg). The reserves have also pulled down 97 rebounds (10.8 rpg) with Riley and
Bryanna Graham sharing the team lead with 11 rebounds each.
REJECTION: College of Idaho has blocked a shot in eight of its nine games, including a season-high five blocked shots last Friday against Eastern Oregon. On 11 occasions in 2021-22, the Yotes rejected at least four shots with a season-high eight against Evergreen State on February 12.Â
A 3-POINT SHOOTING BARRAGE: College of Idaho made back-to-back 3-pointers to start the game against Oregon Tech on its way to making 14 for the game. The 14 3-pointers are the most since the Yotes made 18 against Warner Pacific on February 1, 2014.
GETTING TO THE FOUL LINE: Through the first nine games, College of Idaho has shot 172 free-throw attempts compared to just 68 for its opponents. The 172 free throw attempts ranks third (first: Multnomah: 179; second: Lewis-Clark State: 177) in the CCC. The Yotes went to the line for a season-high 38 attempts against Willamette.Â
ONE-TWO PUNCH: The tandem of
Lexi Mitchell and
Sienna Riggle have been key contributors to the success of the Yotes women's basketball program. Heading into this week's action, Mitchell has recorded 11 double double performances; most recently against Willamette (11/25/22) and Riggle has posted eight with her last double double coming against Montana Tech (11/19/22).Â
STRONG START TO SOPHOMORE CAMPAIGN: Sophomore
Taryn Riley has picked up where she left off after a promising start to her career at College of Idaho as a freshman. The Athol, Idaho native has increased her production with the Yotes from 24.4 to 26.9 minutes per game; 6.1 to 10.6 points per game and 2.4 to 2.9 rebounds per game. Â
