CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's soccer team continues their hot start to conference play, having won their last three games after defeating Providence, 4-0.
The first half saw the Yotes dominate possession, controlling the ball in the Argo half of the field for a majority of the half, but ultimately the half would end at a 0-0 draw. Just seven minutes into the second half, Isabel Deville put the ball into the back of the net off an assist from
Larissa Wegner. Wegner would then add her name to the score sheet, scoring seven minutes after.
Gianna Yslava and
Kylin Olsen both tallied goals five minutes apart, as the game would end in a 4-0 victory.
"Today we were just a little bit off in the first half," said head coach
Brian Smith. "The mentality is always great but out final piece of execution was slightly slow. Girls didn't need much motivation at the half. This is a group with a singular focus and came out and really established a pace of play with a determined mindset to execute in the final third. Some incredible goals and really cool to see
Kylin Olsen get her first college goal. She is a perfect example of someone who gives everything to our team and asks for nothing. For her to score and see her teammates reaction says everything about her value to the group. I am honored to work with such amazing people."
The Yotes will travel to face Oregon Tech next week.
