KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Yotes women's soccer team traveled to Klamath Falls on Friday to take on Oregon Tech, resulting in a 1-0 victory.
Defense was the name of the game for the Yotes in the game, especially in the first half. The defense was locking the Owls down in the first half, as OIT would not register a shot in the half while the Yotes would register 10, including five of those shots on goal.Â
In the second half, Isabelle Deville would strike, scoring the first and only goal of the game in the 56th minute. The goal would come off a corner kick by
Kaitlynn Mallett as the goal would hold to be the game winner.
Hannah McFadden was remarkable in goal again, and with the help of the Yotes defense, would hold OIT without a goal in the game, marking her seventh clean sheet in the last eight games, and only allowing one goal since the start of conference play.
"A really tough game. OIT was well organized and presented lots of challenges today," said head coach
Brian Smith. "Really proud of this group's effort. Winning is very hard in this league and we certainly respect what it takes. Today we had to grind it out and I couldn't be more proud. Isabelle Deville continues a dominant season with a game winning goal off an amazing assist from
Kaitlynn Mallett. This group is full of mentality monsters and I couldn't be more proud."
The Yotes will be back in action tomorrow against Southern Oregon in Ashland.
