Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. - The No. 24 College of Idaho women's soccer team took sole possession of first place in the CCC standings, winning Saturday's top-25 matchup against No. 22 Eastern Oregon by a score of 2-1.
Gianna Yslava struck yet again for the Yotes, scoring in the 40th minute as the Yotes were able to take a 1-0 lead late in the first half, which they would hold going into the break. Four minutes into the second half, Baylee Shewchuck scored to tie the game up for Eastern Oregon. Seven minutes later,
Larissa Wegner added to her season scoring totals as the Yotes were able to take a 2-1 lead, which they would hold.
With the goal coming from Eastern Oregon, that ends the remarkable four game clean sheet streak for the Yotes, with the last goal allowed coming against Embry-Riddle in a 2-0 defeat.
"I think the key to winning today was just this teams character," said head coach
Brian Smith. "They love a good battle and every single person gives their all for the team. This is the most unselfish group I have ever worked with.

Up next for the team is a home game against Rocky Mountain coming next Friday at 4 p.m. at Simplot Stadium.
