LA GRANDE, Ore. – College of Idaho's
Logan Hunt posted his second-straight dominating performance, blitzing a stellar field to win the individual title at the Eastern Oregon Invitational at La Grande Country Club.
Hunt helped the Coyotes to a second-place team finish, as Lewis-Clark State had all five of their scoring runners in the Top-10 to earn the team victory (30 place-points). C of I was a close second (54 points), with Eastern Oregon in third (74 points).
Competing against four NAIA All-Americans, Hunt traversed the 7,000-meter distance in 22:02.30 – 14 seconds ahead of CCC champion, Cole Olsen of LCSC) – to win his third career race.
C of I had their four scoring runner in the Top-15 – as freshman
Hayden Bostrom took 11th (22:53.10), freshman
Cyress Wilson placed 13th (23:00.30), sophomore
Daniel Butler placed 14th (23:00.80) and freshman
Brevin Vaughan placed 15th (23:03.60).
The Yotes will have next weekend off in preparation for their annual Purple and White Alumni Race on the C of I Campus Course on Oct. 2.
