CORVALLIS, Ore. - College of Idaho's
Austin Van Horne was honored today as Embrace Health/Santiam Hospital Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office.
The senior, from Caldwell, struck out a career-high 12 batters in Sunday's 4-3 victory over Oregon Tech - the most strikeouts by a C of I pitcher since the 2017 season.
Van Horne allowed just four hits and one earned run in seven innings of work, adding the walk-off 2-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap of the victory.
The Coyotes return to action this weekend, traveling to Lewiston for a 4-game series with Lewis-Clark State.
