LEWISTON, Idaho – Four College of Idaho runners earned All-Cascade Conference honors, as the Coyotes placed third overall at the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at the Lewiston Orchards Cross Country Course.
A tight 3-team race among Top-20 teams was separated by just nine place points – as Lewis-Clark State used a pair of Top-5 efforts to earn the team title with 54 points, Oregon Tech used three Top-10 efforts to place second (58 points), with the Yotes a close third (63 points). LCSC ended C of I's 2-year run as league champ.
All seven C of I scoring runners finished ahead of the fifth runner of LC and OIT – as the Yotes placed their runners between tenth and 22nd place.
Braden Heath led the Coyotes in tenth-place (25:14), with
Cole Campbell (25:18),
Sean Wagnon (25:26) and
Ian Jackson (25:26) all stacked up behind him. The quartet were named to the 15-runner All-CCC team.
Brennan Donahue capped the Top-5 for C of I with a 17th-place effort (25:37).
Cole Olsen led LCSC, blitzing the field by 14 seconds (24:18), with Tech's Mark French in second (24:32).
C of I will have to see if it receives one of the nine at-large bids to the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships, set for April 9, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
